Job Title: Part-Time Art Teacher
Location: Studio Forget-Me-Not - Type: Part-Time/$25 per hour

About Us:
Studio Forget-Me-Not is a creative and inclusive art studio dedicated to empowering artists with intellectual disabilities and autism. We believe in nurturing individual creativity, fostering independence, and celebrating the transformative power of art within our community.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, open-minded, and experienced Part-Time Art Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is a practicing artist—someone who is actively engaged in their own creative process and understands the joy, discipline, and growth that comes with making art. However, this role is not about showcasing your own work or being hired solely for your artistic talent. What matters most is your ability to recognize and nurture the beauty in all forms of expression, and to use your skills to support the unique creative journey of each artist in our studio.

You will be guiding, encouraging, and adapting—not creating art for our artists, but helping them discover how to create for themselves. If you're someone who finds deep satisfaction in seeing others grow, express, and shine creatively, this may be the perfect place for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead engaging, adaptable art classes that respect each individual's creative style and needs.

  • Foster artistic growth through support, curiosity, and encouragement—not by taking over, but by standing alongside.

  • Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and safe studio environment.

  • Work collaboratively with staff to support art exhibitions and community showcases.

  • Embrace a culture of ongoing learning and idea-sharing within the studio.

  • Provide thoughtful feedback and keep track of student progress in ways that honor each artist’s journe

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art or Art Education (required).

  • Experience teaching art and working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism (preferred).

  • A practicing artist with a sincere interest in community-based art and education.

  • Open-minded, flexible, and driven by a belief in the value of all creative voices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Comfortable supporting exhibitions and advocating for art in public spaces.

Why Join Us?
At Studio Forget-Me-Not, you’ll be part of a mission-driven community where art is about connection, empowerment, and expression. This is a space where your experience as an artist meets a deeper purpose—helping others find and share their voice through art.
