Laura Stuart

Artist, Author & Teacher

Art has always been how I make sense of the world—finding meaning in patterns, colors, and textures. My journey began at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Westminster College, where I earned a degree in Visual Arts Communications, later adding an Art Education certification from Carlow University. Over the years, I've worked to make creativity more accessible to everyone: co-founding Studio Forget-Me-Not in Carnegie, PA, a space where neurodivergent artists can explore and express themselves freely, and spending six years leading a creative day program supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities—work rooted in my belief that leadership, like art, is about vision and imagining what's possible.

My own creative practice is grounded in textile design, bold color, and pattern, inspired by the craftsmanship of my mother and grandmothers. I also design kitschy, statement-making jewelry and sell my handmade work—dresses, jewelry, and home goods—through my store, Ms. Kitschy Witch, now open on E. Carson Street in Pittsburgh.

Visit me at mskitschywitch.com. Whether I'm teaching, creating, or gathering in the community, my guiding philosophy remains the same: individuality isn't just welcomed, it's celebrated.
